About the yoga space
The Yoga Space is a small, family-run yoga center in Berea, Ohio. We are located in the heart of downtown Berea, just across the street from the water fountain at McKelvey Park. We're minutes away from Interstates 71 and 480 and just a short stroll from anywhere on the Baldwin-Wallace campus.
The word Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word "Yuj" meaning to yoke, join or unite. In yoga, we integrate all aspects of the individual to achieve a balanced life and make a connection to the true self. Yoga is a practice of self exploration and realization.
Our classes are rooted in the Hatha Yoga tradition which includes meditation, breath practices, flow sequences, and meditative exploration of the poses, or asanas.
We believe that yoga is a transformative practice that can benefit all. We believe that connecting to our own true nature through our yoga practice helps connect us to others as well, and that building a community through yoga can be transformative to each of us individually and to the community as a whole. We aim to provide a space for such a community to grow.
